Ali Carter vs Peter Ebdon is the second match of The Masters 2011 to get underway following an excellent contest between Mark Selby and Mark King The match begins at 7:00pm and full live snooker coverage will be available on BBC Two, via BBC Interactive and on the BBC website.
Both Ali Carter and Peter Ebdon have been struggling for form recently and neither player managed to progress further than round one in the UK Championship late last year. Ali Carter, who is currently 7th in the World Snooker rankings will be favourite to win the match but due to his current form Peter Ebdon (13th in the World Snooker rankings) will fancy his chances to produce the second upset of the tournament.
Ali Carter will be hoping for a better performance in The Masters 2011 after going out in the first round of the tournament last year courtesy of a 6-3 defeat against Mark Williams. Peter Ebdon managed to progress into the quarter finals in but was knocked out by finalist Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Carter put his drop from 2nd to 7th in the World Snooker rankings down to lack of practice so if he’s made the right preparations for The Masters we may see a different player than we have over the last few months.
