Ronnie O’Sullivan has won the final of the 2012 German Masters snooker 9 frames to 6 against Stephen Maguire.

Ronnie O’Sullivan has won his first ranking event since September 2009 with a 9-7 victory against Stephen Maguire in the German Masters. Despite starting with a century in the opening frame O’Sullivan trailed Maguire 3-1 at the interval having lost three consecutive frames. Maguire had got into a good rhythm and successfully kept O’Sullivan off the table with scores of 130, 106 and 128.

After the interval O’Sullivan was unable to gain any ground on Maguire with the players sharing the spoils with 2 frames each. However, O’Sullivan was able to move up a gear in the second session and move into the lead at 8-7 before clinching the victory.
