Mark Williams Beats Shaun Murphy In UK Championship Semi Final

Mark Williams beat Shaun Murphy in their UK Championship semi final match, winning the last three frames to book himself a place in the final against John Higgins.

Typical of what has been a thrilling UK Championship, Mark Williams and Shaun Murphy didn’t fail to disappoint. Williams went into the second session favourite to win with a 5-3 lead which he briefly extended to 6-3 before losing five frames in a row. At 8-6 up, Shaun Murphy was then favourite to win, needing just one more frame to be assured of a place in the final. However, Williams was able to mount his own comeback winning the following two frames to take the match to a final frame decider which he went on to win 71-34.
