Ronnie O’Sullivan demolished Shaun Murphy 7-1 in the 2010 Premier League Snooker title. O’Sullivan had held the Premier League Snooker title for five years in a row until Shaun Murphy beat him in last years final.

O’Sullivan developed an early lead against Murphy through a mixture of quality snooker and capitalising on Murphy’s mistakes. After a break of 74 in the first frame followed by a 123 in the second it was clear that O’Sullivan was in title winning form. Murphy didn’t see much of the table until the third frame but a miss on an easy red let O’Sullivan back in to extend his lead to 3-0 will a break of 59. It didn’t get much better for Murphy in the fourth round where he missed two reds fall even further behind to 4 frames to 3. It wasn’t until the sixth frame that Murphy was able win a frame but at 5-1 against an in form Ronnie O’Sullivan it looked all but over. A break of 68 helped O’Sullivan move to just one frame from victory. At 6-1 down Murphy got a chance to claw a frame back after O’Sullivan ran out of position on 51 but he failed to punish three time World Champion and O’Sullivan wrapped up the victory with a long red.
