John Higgins claimed his fourth World Snooker Championship win against Judd Trump in a mesmorising final.

The 35 year old Scot drew on his experience, calm under pressure and unrivalled matchplay to come back from behind and win the 2011 World Snooker Championship 18-15.

Judd Trump developed a 3 frame lead at 10-7 with the help of two century breaks and after clocking up breaks of 104 and 99 to maintain his 3 frame lead at 12-9 look the favourite to win the match. However, a missed blue in the 22nd frame swung the momentum of the game in Higgins favour and the Scot was able to mount a fight back. The Scot won 5 frames in a row and was two frames up at 14-12.

Trump was quick to reply and get back in the game by taking the following two frames to level the match at 14-14.

At 16-15 Judd Trump had the opportunity to reduce the deficit but failed to produce a frame winning break and Higgins was left needing a snooker on the pink for a chance to win the frame. He got the snooker and Judd Trump was unable to hit the pink the first time round and appeared to put it safe with his second attempt. But Higgins doubled it into the middle pocket and sunk the black to win the frame and match 18-15.
